This was my first time to stay at Fallen Leaf Campground, and I loved it. I stayed in site #88. It was on the meadow, which gave a lot of open space to look out to. Site 86 was quite close on the left side, but site 90 on the right was a bit of a distance away, so it really felt spacious and not too crowded. Lots of bear action nearly every day, especially in the evenings and early mornings. Make sure you listen to what the camp staff says - keep ALL FOOD and anything with a scent in the bear box!!

Nice area next to beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake. There are some nice hikes close to the campground. Lake Tahoe is a short distance away via bike or car

Bear! If this doesn't bother you, great. What might are all the group campers piled into 1 campsite. I think there are 200 spots at this campground and it's huge. If you want to stay at the campground, a bike is a fun option, so are dog walks. The facilities are fine and functioning, campsites clean. The pine trees are amazing and the sound of the wind blowing through them is haunting, in a cool way. Camp hosts are friendly and well travelled - chat them up!
Road driving in from hwy is worn and bumpy. If only more government funds could be spend on campground maintenance!
Tahoe is very, very, very crowded over the summer. It's a bit much for me. I'll be checking things out again off season, and when the bears are catching their Zzzzzzzzz.

clean and friendly. Love coming end of season when limited campsites and fewer people.
