Shout out to Jennifer who works at this location! She is so friendly and welcoming and HELPFUL! She goes above and beyond to make sure your needs are met and your stay goes smoothly. We are Thousand Trails members and we come to Tahoe more than any other location. The public bathrooms are always clean and heated very warm in the cold months! Also love that the showers and toilets are individual and private as opposed to having one large bathroom with many stalls for people to share. Neat trails to explore, quiet at night and in the morning, large perimeter and it’s very close to the hustle and bustle of town! We got to see some wildlife as well. Their little store has fair prices and pretty much anything we’ve ever needed. Beautiful scenery!

We stayed here almost a month in the fall after Labor Day. Great location for nearby trails and activities. The airport is nearby and can be noisy but it’s not very frequent and never after dark. This campground can get very crowded during peak weekends but we had fun at there vintage trailer meet up. Campgrounds electrical was spotty at some of the sites and cell reception is pretty low, we had to use Starlink. Bears and coyotes are pretty common visitors even during the day sometimes. Overall we loved our stay here and the staff was very accommodating

I was not impressed with the communication at TVC. I called Thousand Oaks, their booking agent, and booked my stay. I paid extra for the lock fee to lock in site 127. I paid half my balance and the rest was due upon check-in. When I checked in online, my site was automatically switched to 170. I was not sure why this happened so I called Thousand Oaks and they told me I needed to call the campground directly because they had no idea what happened. Well good luck calling the campground. Their number is a switchboard to nowhere which routed me back to Thousand Oaks each time. I was given an email address for the campground, so I emailed, which obviously takes hours to get a response and by this time I'm already driving 3 hours to the campground. I was told that site 127 had flooded recently but that 170 was just as good. Well to my surprise, when I arrive, someone is in 127 so it must not have flooded that badly. I settled for 170 although it was not the site I had paid to "lock-in". Needless to say, I was not impressed with the communication. It is not likely I will be back because for $200/night I expect way better service.

My wife and I stayed at Tahoe Valley Campground and were disappointed with our experience. The sites are extremely small and very close to neighbors, making it feel cramped. For the high cost, the value didn’t match our expectations.
This campground seems better suited for large groups who enjoy late-night partying, which wasn’t ideal for us as early risers seeking a peaceful retreat. On the positive side, it’s great for families with kids, offering plenty of activities to keep them entertained. However, for those looking for a quiet, relaxed camping experience, this isn’t the best fit.

There is something for everyone at this campground. Fantastic activities for the kids, biking, hiking to the nearby river, pool, etc. a fenced dog park within the grounds and a great store for forgotten items or souvenirs. The band on Saturday night was first rate. You could hear the cheering from afar. The free entertainment and daily activities arranged for the kids is priceless!
