Azalea Campground

One of the best park campgrounds I have ever stayed in. Great sizes to the camping spots, roomy and not back to back with other campers. Clean bathrooms, and obviously well maintained even though it was December. I highly recommend.

It was a very nice place to stay. There are cement areas to park on and grassy areas for tents. The bathrooms have flush toilets and running water, but I saw no soap or paper towels. The bathrooms also didn't seem to have a light switch, so bring your flashlight. It has some beautiful views though.

Bit of a walk to the bathroom but nothing that wasn’t doable. Very nice location and even though the campground is close to the road it’s not loud. Flat campsite in a very nice location, would recommend

This was a wonderful campsite, still boasting plenty of amenities despite being winter and having active snowfall. The roads to the campsite remained clear and the available (first come first serve) camp sites were clear with clean fire pits. The camp amenities included an ash removal equipment, flushing toilets, running water in bathrooms and at dedicated spigots spread across the camp. Given the sub-freezing temperatures overnight, the camp was very quiet shortly after the sun came down making star gazing a very enjoyable experience. Azalea campground is right next to the visitor center and general store which comes in handy if you run low on supplies or are looking for information.
Hikes within the immediate area are very accessible and do not require experience to traverse. There are plenty of snow play areas within the vicinity.
Overall this has been one of my most enjoyable camping experiences within a national park and I look forward to exploring the area during the warmer months.
