Cold Springs Campground is a stunning and serene location, nestled by the Kaweah River, offering beautiful scenery and excellent hiking opportunities. The campground is well-maintained, with clean facilities and helpful rangers on-site. THIS CAMPGROUND IS NOT ACCESSIBLE TO THE MAIN AREAS OF SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK.
Which is why this is not a 5 start review, this campground is 2 hours from the museum and more popular tree viewing areas.
I would not suggest driving the road to the campground in the dark, get there early and do it in the daylight.
The campground was nice, with fire pits and large bear boxes. Some spots are drive up and some are a bit farther (15ft) from the car.
Drive up spots were more on the left side single digits, spots a bit farther away from the car were more in the teen's.
You will need the suggested marmot wrapping or tarp and twine.
Of the 4 folks we met, we all thought we were camping in the park, but soon realized we were not, which was sad and the point of our trip.
Not to be deterred, there was some wonderful hiking up there, flat and short if you wanted, or more advanced with some alpine lakes at the end.
This campground was quite and away from the heavy traffic you would expect at Sequoia National Park.

Very beautiful campsite! It has a river at the entrance and the sound of it is just relaxing. Loved the trails that lead up to magnificent lakes!
