What Guests Are Saying
Cold Springs Campground is a stunning and serene location, nestled by the Kaweah River, offering beautiful scenery and excellent hiking opportunities. The campground is well-maintained, with clean facilities and helpful rangers on-site. While the access road is challenging and some bathrooms need improvement, the overall experience is highly rewarding, making it a favorite for campers seeking a peaceful retreat.

Beautiful and secluded location. A perfect first night before hitting the wilderness trails. Just be prepared for a rather nauseating drive in from all the twists, turns and bumps on the almost hour long trip from the highway.

The walk-in sites at Cold Springs are a long walk from the parking. Some sites are several hundred yards on relatively steep paths.
Several of us with car-camping gear were shocked at how far we had to haul our gear and how many trips it took.
If you have a choice, site 33 is the best walk-in site.
It's the closest to parking and it's a large campsite with no other sites nearby.
It even has its own water faucet.
Also, be aware that the bear boxes in the campsites are relatively small, so you may have to leave your big cooler in one of the big bear boxes in the parking area.

Seriously long walk from the parking lot to the campsites which are dry so you would have to carry your water in if you wanted to cook. You can camp with typical car-camping equipment but expect to make a lot of long, unpleasant trips back and forth. I was on the road with spotty cell service when I made these reservations so I probably didn't look around too much, or maybe these were all that was left.

This campground is on the other side of the park, about an hour and 15 mins drive thru mineral springs Rd but totally worth it if you're looking to escape from the crowed and be in nature.
Our campsite was about 3 mins walk from the parking lot and that was the only hard part to bring the camping stuff back and forth, other than that absolutely recommend it if you're looking to stay few days.

The campsite is nestled along the most beautiful creek and has a lot of space between campsites. Trail to mineral king trailheads from the campsite is simply stunning! Lots of wildlife. The road in is a bit treacherous, so make sure your vehicle is in good working order before attempting the steep climb up the one lane road. Use your lower gears on the way down to save your brakes.

Amazing campground, really close to the beautiful monarch lakes and really far off the beaten path.
