Moraine Campground (CA)

campsite did not appear to be as seen in the photograph or in its description of the recreation.gov website. It was difficult to get into and had a steep grade. I camped in a 22ft trailer.

We enjoyed the dive to the campground, it was exhilarating to say the least. These views are what had brought me back to Kings Canyon. Tons of activities for backcountry adventures in the Sierra mountains.

Campsites have enough room for privacy they arr not to close to each other ..tje bathrooms are cleaner than I expected!

Very lovely, family friendly campground. Cedar Grove Village being so near is very convenient and provides easy access to the river. We didn’t see any bears during our stay, but other campers did. We hope we bring our future family here one day :)

Nice campground. Beautiful area. No camp host. Not sure what to do if there is an emergency. I should of asked at Sentinel camp store.
Amphitheater show in Sentinel campground was good. Bring comet to clean the bathroom sink. A bit grey. When I mentioned the bathroom (men's) per my husband, needed cleaning the forest ranger sent them to clean it immediately.
Toilets flushed nicely. No lights in the bathroom at night. Nice that it didn't disturb our star gazing. You need a light to find the rest room. And a place to set it while you use the restroom. A few hooks would be nice. We used the showers at Sentinel. Nice simple showers.
I would visit again. We went to cedar grove village for a day. Ice cream along the way with a place to get gas. Seen bear, deer, snake and stellar blue jays. Boyden Cavern was a nice place to tour.

There’s a lot of room for tents and there’s one paved area for a car/truck. There is a spot between two trees that can fit another car of the paved road. There’s a decent amount of trees for shade and the area is also pretty flat.

Wonderful quiet campground. You can hear the river from most of the campground. We did not find any easy access to the river, but you can get down there with some climbing. It was not very crowded at all. We have a 32 foot fifth wheel and I would not recommend, we would not do that drive again, but we made it. Absolutely gorgeous area.

Camp sites are a bare minimum. Picnic table was broken and camp site was not level. Everything flowed downhill towards the stream. Park Rangers were very helpful. They went out of their way to help us find a different camp site that was more suitable for our trailer. Website needs some help with booking. Very warm area for June even though you are in the mountains. All in all, average site to visit.

perfect spot next to river

Great place to stay! Other campers were a little loud into the night, but scenery was amazing, campground was free of human trash. Bathrooms was as you’d expect of a camping bathroom. Close to good hiking trails and the visitor center and a great drive down! The river is accessible with a short hill climb, but you can still faintly hear it at the tent.
