What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, shaded sites and proximity to the river, making it ideal for hiking and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere and the campground's access to nearby amenities, such as the store and ranger programs. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms, are in disrepair and require maintenance, which detracts from the overall experience.

We made a reservation in advance to stay 2 nights at Sentinel Campground in King's Canyon. Our 1st campsite was ready when we arrived. The loop for the 2nd campsite was closed, & staff said it wouldn't open until noon the next day, which was inconvenient as we wanted to go hiking in the a.m., but had to wait around to move to the 2nd site.
Also, not all of the campgrounds and toilets were open even though the demand was there in mid-May 2021. A friend who hoped to get a site the 2nd night wasn't able to & had to leave the park.
Other than that, the park is beautiful, and we enjoyed the hikes to Roaring River & Mist Falls.

Love this campground! The drive is worth it! It’s amazing! I would suggest to book the campsites that’s close to the river, you will love it! There is a waterfall (roaring river falls) within 10mins away from the campground. Bathroom, waters, and trash are provided. There is zero cell service here, so be prepared. The surrounding view is so nice that I will definitely come back!

The campground itself is very beautiful . Our experience however, was poor due mainly to the other campers need to have constant smoky fires going. It really ruined the experience for us. We would like to see some rules limiting the fires to a couple of hours in the evening only and have the rules enforced.
A no smoking fires campground would be welcome.
We had to move our camp because we could not get a reservation for two days in a row. But after we moved nobody showed up to take the campsite we vacated. Also there were several unoccupied sites around us. Something needs to be done to allow campers needing a site to be allowed to use sites that are not occupied.

Moto camped and the area is beautiful. Take some time to see as much as you can. Still have some things closed but everyone was very nice and informative.

Beautiful setting with decent size sites and most have lots of trees and shade. Everything was clean and well kept for the start of the 2021 season. The roads are tight for larger RV so watch the corners.
No cellular or Internet service that I could find so make all your arrangements and download your information before arrival.
