What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, shaded sites and proximity to the river, making it ideal for hiking and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere and the campground's access to nearby amenities, such as the store and ranger programs. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms, are in disrepair and require maintenance, which detracts from the overall experience.

Beautiful setting with decent size sites and most have lots of trees and shade. Everything was clean and well kept for the start of the 2021 season. The roads are tight for larger RV so watch the corners.
No cellular or Internet service that I could find so make all your arrangements and download your information before arrival.

It is the best-located campground in Kings Canyon. Only downside right now is that Cedar Village, etc., are shut down due to Covid-19, but that should be opening up again soon. It can be a bit hot on the valley floor in summer, so if you can, pick a site with lots of trees for shade, or near the river which always has a cooling breeze.

We left this campground after 1 night. It was very hot and dirty. There was nothing nearby. The store and the lodge were closed. It was an hours drive to get ice. We checked out and went to sunset campground across from visitors center. Between kings canyon and sequoia. It was so much nicer. I would never go back to sentinel campground. It is way to far and there is nothing there.
