Sentinel Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, shaded sites and proximity to the river, making it ideal for hiking and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere and the campground's access to nearby amenities, such as the store and ranger programs. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms, are in disrepair and require maintenance, which detracts from the overall experience.

The site was clean and the tent pad was scraped level with a sandy surface. I had good shade and convenient access to water, trash and toilets. I'd estimate the campground to be 75% full (Fall season - midweek) and everyone was considerate. One camper nearby ran their generator for about 45 minutes but it was quiet and not yet dark. I did have a young bear amble down the road Neighbors were quiet, music was kept low and within folks' campsites. I ate at the Cedar Grove Lodge and had a nice salad and iced tea. My only comment is that the toilet facilities on the West end of the loops had a non-operating sink in need of repair. Other than that everything was in good condition. In fact, I'll be returning to this same campsite next week for some more flyfishing.

Womderful, serene campground. Very clean grounds and restrooms, respectable patrons, informative Rangers with a wonderful Jr Ranger program. 10 out of 10. Can't wait to come back!

Rating it poorly so people stop booking out campsites weeks at a time without ever cancelling. There were so many sites that were physically open but showed online as being reserved - it was extremely frustrating because we struggled to get a site at all. Otherwise, I've been coming here for 30 years and consider it my second home. There's no other campground I'd rather stay at.

Beautiful area, near a river with soaring cliffs on each sides.
The roads are in kind of rough shape, with a fallen tree haven completely taken out one of them, and roots ripping up the asphalt elsewhere.

Loved our stay here. Camp was clean with large sites. Plenty of shade and great river access. Ranger programs were appreciated and the nightsky was amazing. 10 out of 10, this campground is now on our favorites list.

campground location is really good close to the river. the negatives are no light at the bathroom, and you are really close to each other.

Campground was not busy and was very quiet. Almost had the place to ourselves. There is plenty to see around the campground without having to drive for two hours.
