What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, shaded sites and proximity to the river, making it ideal for hiking and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere and the campground's access to nearby amenities, such as the store and ranger programs. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms, are in disrepair and require maintenance, which detracts from the overall experience.

I've visited King's Canyon for over 40 years and visits. Always like the convenience of Sentinel campground. Close to Visitor Center, Market & Showers. On the river and one side has Sheep Creek which is lovely in the springtime.
Plenty of options for sites, with or without trees, some more private than others. I like #23 myself.
Plenty of trailheads nearby and others a short drive. Take motor trail on other side of river if you have appropriate vehicle.
I prefer May but have been there in the fall also. Be prepared for small face flies and/or mosquitos seasonally.
And it can be very very hot down there too. It was 93+ in early Sept.
