What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

One site had about 20-30 people yelling and cackling at the top of their lungs cursing and being drunkards until 2:30am. It sounded like a bar or nightclub. Where’s the enforcement of policy? There should be a relative curfew check to ensure no disturbances in the campground. It’s so unfair to everyone else that one reservation ruined the sleep of everyone in the campground.

We loved staying at Sentinel Campground! Site 14 is one of the best sites. It’s a big site right on the river with lots of trees to hang hammocks, great spot for the tent between two tall trees. Loved listening to the river at night. Kings Canyon is spectacularly beautiful. Great hikes and stunning scenery. I liked it more than Yosemite! Much more remote and it really felt like we were getting away from it all and disconnecting. Highly recommend!!

Nice campground, lots of trees, stayed 7-6-22. Not so good if you're planning on a one night stay out of the blue. Reservation only. No cell service or wifi just 1 payphone by the visitor center. Waited an hour on hold for a rep. Campground had plenty of empty sites, campground next to this one was half empty. Would be nice if they had one of these campgrounds managed by a camp host. So people just popping in can pay for a site more easily.
