A friend and I wanted a weekend away from everything. We didn't know how remote the campsite was, so we had a little freakout on the drive into the canyon. Bad on us. But once there, it was so peaceful and beautiful.

The river was gorgeous, the camp sites were clean and free of debris from the trees. Bear boxes are generously sized. Our yeti fit in easily along with everything else. Highly recommend using them.

My friend swears something was outside the tent around 2am. It is an active bear area, so be aware.

There's no electricity at all, so be prepared, including the bathrooms. We had lanterns so it was fine.

Bring firewood, but there's also a lot of branches on the ground from downed trees you can use. DO NOT CUT ANYTHING DOWN.

Neighbors were nice. Plenty of families.

The site was amazing for our trailer setup. Kids had a blast in the river. No wildlife issue. It was much less crowded than other parks. Definitely will go again! Rangers were awesome

The campground was very crowded due to all the other campgrounds closed due to being late in the season so felt too close to each other. Also the women's toilet near our campground were not flushing very well so clogged up the 2 nights we were there.

Decent campground. Terrible visitors. Not peaceful at all. People leave food everywhere which brings bears around, so you wind up with people screaming and setting off their car alarms all night to scare the bears away rather than storing things properly. It would be great if NPS started fining campers for improper food storage in bear country.

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
