camping is nice but the site has no flat terrain to install tent . next time i will choose a site next to the river.
it is great to reserve prior to memorial day as many sites are available .
mist trails and other trails were beautiful with many bears we encountered and beautiful flowers

Sheep Creek Campground was an excellent facility. Located in pristine wilderness, in bear country, we stayed at site 11 and were very pleased. The only "negative" is the site is about 34 miles through the canyon... there are some campers boondocks, but I have no idea how they were brave enough to tow them to the campground! We had a great time. Highly recommend!

Amazing campsite was clean when we got there and left it the way it was. rangers and camp management drove by very often made it feel safe . Bathrooms where also well maintained definitely will be back also bring extra ice or firewood or any extra necessities the general store is a drive away

We recently stayed at Sheeps Creek Campground and had a mixed experience. Our primary campsite was excellent—spacious, private, and beautifully situated with the creek directly behind us. The natural setting was peaceful and scenic, making it one of the highlights of our trip.
Unfortunately, the second campsite we reserved was much less enjoyable. A neighboring group had approximately 12 people and more than four tents on their site. Their setup extended into our campsite, significantly reducing our usable space. Although we brought the issue to the campground ranger's attention, no action was taken, and we ultimately paid for a campsite we could not comfortably use.
The overcrowding also appeared to contribute to restroom issues. The facilities became backed up and flooded during our stay, forcing us to use restrooms elsewhere in the campground. On our final day, a ranger offered to relocate us to a different site, but since it was our last night, moving was not practical.
Noise was another concern. The neighboring group stayed up late and was loud enough to disturb several surrounding campsites. At one point during the night, I heard another camper yell for them to "shut up," yet no ranger responded.
Despite these frustrations, the campground itself is beautiful, and our creekside campsite was outstanding. With better enforcement of campsite occupancy limits, noise regulations, and facility maintenance, this would be an exceptional campground. I would still recommend Sheeps Creek Campground for its natural beauty and spacious campsites, but I hope campground management addresses these issues for future visitors.

If you are coming out to enjoy nature and not have people right on top of you then you should skip this campground. Most of the sites are slopped and each site had way more than six people. We counted over 20 people combined at the two sites next to us. People were walking right by our tent and through our campsite. There were six tents within 5 feet of our tent because the excess of people and the small sites. People were loud way past midnight and we left early because we couldn't sleep due to noise. The toilets started out very clean but by the time we left they were gross and overflowing. This campground needs to enforce rules and clean the bathroom way more often.

We loved our stay at Sheep creek campgorund! It was the perfect camping spot for Memorial Day weekend. We were able to explore the areas of kings Canyon very easily and detour to Sequoia national park on our way out. The bathrooms were very close to our campsite and were clean.

Very nice remote place. Make sure to bring headlights as there is no light in the toilets. Public showers are available at the lodge&market.

One of the best sites I’ve booked so far, me and my family loved it! It’s very spacious and close to the river and other trails, the park rangers did their rounds every day and were friendly and helpful. Beautiful views and a scenic drive into the mountains on the way in and out of this area. If you need to shower cedar grove is minutes down the 180 and has showers, groceries and snacks. Safe trips to everyone and enjoy :)

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
