Granite Flat (California)

Granite Flat is a nice getaway! The staff there are friendly and professional. There is freeway noise, but it sings the same whooshing noise as the beautiful Truckee River and gets lost in the sound of it's waters going over its rocks.
The park and campsites were kept clean as well as the bathrooms!
A big shout out to Roos, the camp maintenance and manager. Roos was so kind and welcoming. Always happy to talk with the guest laugh with them and answer questions. She gives that campground a lot of value in that she brings the "real human," touch. she is an asset to her profession.
I am returning to the Granite Flat Camp grounds soon!

We loved that the location was close to downtown Truckee and north Lake Tahoe. The camp host was great and accommodating!

Camp Host "Roos" was very professional and pleasant. She worked hard and had a smile on her face. She kept the place spotless. Will definitely stay there again.

Great site on the Truckee River. Some noise from the freeway, but overall an amazing site. Loved the cleanliness, space, and closeness to town. Water taps and bathrooms were in good proximity as well.

Most of the sites have access to the river. Restrooms clean. Friendly staff.

All the camp host were awesome. Bathrooms were always stocked and clean. A big group 40+ people have been coming up here for years. Ruze & Shelly and thier hubbies were all very friendly and courteous.
Way better than last few years, after gov cuts.

Sorry, but this was a terrible experience. Our neighboring campers had a generator that they left on until two in the morning and kept us up all night long another group just up from us where there was like three campsites together or extremely loud playing music until 2 o’clock in the morning kids screaming and yelling running back-and-forth all night long. It was exhausting. We ended up leaving the next day. We did complain to the host and the host took immediate action, but the campers did not comply.

Perfectly great for the price. 1 disappointment: too much traffic noise. but, it did die down late at night until morning. Second disappointment: i'd expect walk-in sites to have a bit more privacy. Third disappointment: trash dumpsters were overstuffed. It was totally beautiful, you could hear the river at night when traffic died down, easy river access, flat tent site, easy path from car, clean restroom, overall good experience.

Beautiful, beautiful campground. Located along the Truckee River makes for and incredible view and sense of peace. Bathrooms are clean and always stocked. Less than a mile away is a Save Mart, Pizzeria, Sushi, and gas station. Even a laundromat for long stays.
Too bad it's so close to CA 89, which can be heard from every campsite.

Campsite was clean. Views of the Truckee River from my campsite were amazing. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, well stocked and easy to access
