What Guests Are Saying
Granite Flat campground is praised for its beautiful location near the Truckee River, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a popular choice for annual visits. Many campers appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities like biking and floating, and the well-maintained restrooms add to the positive experience. However, road noise from nearby Highway 89 is a common concern, particularly at night, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the site.

I’ve been here many times. It’s one of my favorite campgrounds. The vault toilets are always clean and the staff are always helpful and friendly. It’s a great campground with lots of access to enjoy the Truckee River.

The reservation process was a bit strange with fully booked sites one minute and then all of a sudden more sites and dates were available. Everything was great except for the smoke coming in from another site and a couple of sites nearby had about 3-4 tents per site; this became quite a little city of people. Despite my negative comments, I would definitely go back.

Wonderful Campground that is very easy to find. The route within is easy to navigate through even with an RV. Alongside the Truckee river makes a great way to spend the day in. Truckee downtown seemed like a 5 minute ebike ride to get to. Clean Campground. Will definitely use again

River was nice. Sites were large and clean. Some noise from adjoining roadway.

Pleasantly surprised at this campground! Clean pit toilets, and easy location. There is some noise from being so close to the highway, but it’s not bad. There are plenty of swimming/wading spots within minutes of the campsites. The brand new bear box at this site was nearly impossible to open though. Guess I’m less dexterous than Tahoe bears!

The host of this campsite was not nice and very aggressive rude host name is Ruth. First she came to my site and told me that my music was loud and I can’t have music that loud so I asked her what is a reasonable level is acceptable? She just said turn it down, i comply and turn it down. She then said if you don’t turn it down I’ll call the sheriff to come tell you to turn it down. I told Ruth that this is the lowest level of music after the this level is off, she said yes that what I want so I turn it off and she left the camp site and told my friend next camp over that he didn’t not have a site booked he said he did but she didn’t want to hear it and wrote a note that stated he need to pay for the camp site. I called the camp site office to know what is acceptable music level for camp site. The stuff response with as long as you next site doesn’t hear it then it okay. I think the stuff. Approximately around 2am the camp site next to my was very loud and talking and laughing but the host didn’t come by to tell the camp site. The next day the host came by my camp site and stopped multiple times just to listen to my music level but didn’t say anything.

Our two camp sites were level and easy to park our travel trailers. Access to the river was easy and enjoyable for small children and their elders. Watching bear descend the mountain into the river was magical. However, iverall, the campground was in disrepair. Signage laid on the ground as posts were broken off. Other items were also broken. Weeds & bushes surrounding the blacktop spaces were overwhelmingly close, impeding stepping off the parking areas. The pit toilet restrooms were kept clean by the hosts.

We had a nice site (14) but lots of road noise, since the campground is right next to the highway to Lake Tahoe. Everything was clean, good level pads.

Special spot on river close to biking trails and downtown. Host and hostess were fantastic. Our 3rd yr in row stating here at site 4!! Ran into lots of peeps driving around looking for sites at dusk…so discouraging as the CG was full. Have a reservation on weekends.
