What Guests Are Saying
Granite Flat campground is praised for its beautiful location near the Truckee River, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a popular choice for annual visits. Many campers appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities like biking and floating, and the well-maintained restrooms add to the positive experience. However, road noise from nearby Highway 89 is a common concern, particularly at night, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the site.

Great campground! Very clean with plenty of space in each campsite. We stayed at 3 different sites over the course of 2 weeks and we loved each one. The camp host was super friendly and always easy to find if we had questions. The River was beautiful and had great fishing.

This was a great camping spot! We liked it so much we booked a second trip here in a few weeks. We camped in a trailer and stayed an additional night beyond our initial reservation in a second spot. Both spots were level and required no additional leveling. The only weird thing is how the sites are laid out. In the second site our fire pit was so near our neighbors tents that we chose not to have a fire that night - not only because of smoke possibly going right in their tents but also we would have been hanging around the campfire chatting right by their tents. Just a bit of odd layout. Other than that, we loved it.

Great location adjacent to the river. You do hear the highway, but you should expect that given the proximity to 89. Facilities were kept clean and the Camp Host was very nice.

This is a beautiful campground along the Truckee River, however good earplugs are a must since the noise from nearby Highway 89 is overpowering. The campground host is amazing--he made contact with us to make sure everything was ok and to warn us about the bears in the area. I saw him cleaning up campsites after guests moved out. His care and attention really showed because the campsite wasn't littered with the micro-trash that is so common in campsites. The river is beautiful and lots of people were floating down it and having fun. Great location if you don't mind the noise of the road.

I loved this place! i stayed on site 64 and i had the river to myself! great spot for 2-3 tents, bear locker, table, fire pit, and space to hang your hammock. The host was super nice and helpful. The best Birthday ever.
'm from Los Angeles and it is dry and sad out here, so when i saw what i would wake up to every morning i was grateful. FYI There is car noise since its by the highway but who cares you have a river to you self!!! Also was cool that there was a Mexican market and a grocery store for carne asada, wood and other last minute louse items. Love you truckee and Tahoe always in my heart!!
