We always love tahoe, no matter where we camp. this location was clean and quiet and convenient to the bike trail, Truckee, palisades and the rest of the Tahoe basin. Being so close to the river enhances the experience.

Was a bounty of peace, tranquility and super galactic omnipresent oneness achieved. Camp Host was engagingly friendly. Love him! All fellow campers really do not care what you're doing. The bears are friendly too...
I assisted one crossing the road...

We really liked this campground. Our solute wasn't too close to the highway so it was pretty quiet. Nice pull thru space. Nice host on site.

Great campground next to the river! Nights can be a bit chilly, and note the noise from the highway.

campsite has lot of potential.. but it fails in some aspect:
-potable water is not so good
-toilette is low manteined (igienic papaer ended and no sanitizer... and low cleaning=
-no access to river (even if you are close to)

Very close to Highway 89, so lots of road noise certain times of day. We have a small trailer and the loops are laid out incorrectly for backing a small trailer in, especially with the spacing of the trees and large rocks to keep people on the road. We had to come in through the exit in order to back in. We spoke with another small trailer owner there who had done the same. Sites are very narrow and challenging to back into with trailers. When it says 30 foot equipment is allowed, that is for the trailer and the vehicle. The sites are not long enough to accommodate both of over than length. The river is very pretty, but not easily accessible and there is no beach area. Campground is a great central location if you plan to tent camp and go out and do other activities.

Camp host was wonderful. Yes the sites are right off the highway but honestly you barely notice. Spacious spots. Lots of shade. Close to many activities.

Tahoe National Forest is not being managed for people. It has turned into a logging operation, and it's devastating to us that have loved this area for a long time. You would think because it is Lake Tahoe, the priority is supposedly the lake, tourism, they would be sensitive to destroying the very thing people come to the forest for--THE FOREST. But they are logging the forest now, industrial scale, a lot of destruction, while the campgrounds, the recreational facilities go unmaintained. It's terrible. We thought there was all this advocacy for the forest and the lake. It was all safe and protected--but it's not. We are seeing stumps and logging in places we have never seen it before. Who are these people letting this happen? These are STILL OUR public lands. We don't know ANYONE who wants Lake Tahoe Forests LOGGED, so obviously, they don't care about the public. The other sad thing is with the way things are now with the climate heating everything up, we are seeing places where the forest does not come back or it comes back looking sick. Please speak out. Regarding the campgrounds along 89, there are too many campsites in them and they are congested in the summer. The roads are narrow and unmaintained. Maybe instead of LOGGING, maintain the campgrounds and picnic areas???
Re: do not select campsite, 21. It should be removed as a campsite. It's terrible. First you can't get TO IT. There is a giant boulder in the drive-in for the campsite that makes the entry very narrow not to mention you can hit your door/car on it when you open it. Also the other two campsites below completely overwhelm and dominate the whole area and there was a truck from the adjacent campsite blocking our ability to even DRIVE INTO the campsite. The other two sites are so large, accommodate so many vehicles, the upper parking area for the one next door actually BLOCKS entry into Site #21. Overall, terrible experience. We ended up just leaving in total frustration.

I love the campgrounds. This particular host didn’t check the DARs and drove into our campsite at 12 waking us up from our nap. Stating he’s checking campfire rings. However when a neighboring camper in 27 had a fire at night and in the morning he did not come by. We do not set fires while camping as I’ve worked in recreation the last couple seasons out of the Nevada city office. Other than that it was great. Bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned in about 5 days according to the log on the bathroom door.
