quiet, uncrowded campground, mostly closed for winter. Many sites are fully shaded, and it would be quite beautiful in summer. Restrooms were very clean, though the lack of showers was disappointing. It is next to the motel and restaurant; food at the restaurant was good, and it was open despite it being just before a holiday.

The area is beautiful and we would like to explore further, but we had only one night. Only concerns were several camp fires during a very windy day/night, and lack of dark sky viewing from an rv with bright lights.

The campsites were weirdly designed for every users. There were boulders everywhere as if to block every from entering campsites. The roads were also rather small. But the view was fantastic and the price was awesome. That was the two most important factors.

Obviously a beautiful national park. The site was great really love visiting, love the hiking, no complaints 'except' I find it exceptionally hard to believe that of the 176 trails(in alltrails.com) in the park the government couldn't allocate "ONE" trail of any real account for pet usage. ONE trail of 5-10 miles is not going to destroy the entire Colorado/Mojave desert ecosystem. Two trails allow dogs 0.1 miles and 0.5? It's insulting to be frank. That being said the park is pretty awesome.
