Nice campground! We stayed in a tent cabin which was quite nice. We had both a fan and small heater. The weather was cold so the tent was a plus. There is a small store and the campground made it convenient to explore the park. Our tent had 30 amp electric so that was a major plus as well as WiFi. The bed wasn’t great but better than a camp mattress. We enjoyed the Adirondack chais to sit in after dark. The restrooms weren’t super close but the showers near the office were wonderful- nice hot water. I would stay here again - we recommend if you want to hike the park.

We drove into the campground quite late (around 11pm), very easily found our campsite, and enjoyed making a fire in the provided pit. The other included amenities were functional and as clean as one could hope for (picnic bench, water spout, and bathrooms). The stars were absolutely incredible on the cloudless night, this site is absolutely worth a visit!

Cottonwood is perfect for night sky viewing (our favorite of our cross country trip!) and is conveniently close to Cottonwood Spring and one of the visitor centers. Unfortunately the bees are unbelievable, even in early October. The palm trees seem to be their hives and they start buzzing past you as you begin to hike the trail that cuts past the spring- keeping us from hiking the trail more than a few hundred feet. They weren’t too bad at the campground, but they do bother you in the restrooms and are all over the RV dump station and kept us from using that as well. Over all it was a great campground for one night, but I wouldn’t want to stay more than a few days if the dump and water aren’t safely usable.

This might be one of the most beautiful campgrouds during our trip. I would especially recommend to take a bath in the river right next to the campground.

There is no choice for not applicable. We didn’t stay at Cottonwood despite our reservation. It was simply too hot.
