What Guests Are Saying
The Cottonwood Group campsite offers spacious areas with clean facilities, including flushing toilets and shaded picnic tables, making it a pleasant spot for camping. The site provides beautiful views for stargazing and easy access to hiking trails. However, noise from other campers and the lack of a curfew can disrupt the experience, and there have been reports of issues with park regulations regarding vehicle camping.

Great campground! Plenty of space, restrooms were clean and the fire pits are large for good size campfires.

The site was beautiful with easy access to a lovely hike that takes you to Cottonwood Springs, and to the oasis if you want to hike further. The toilets are close by regardless of what group site you’re at (flushing toilets with sinks and hand soap!) and the shaded picnic tables are so incredibly nice to have. Trash was nearby to get rid of, and the fire pits have grills.
The problem is: there’s no curfew, which is why overall it was a rough experience. Group sites 1 and 2 blasted lights and music (and later on an action movie) till 3am. Everyone is pretty close by, even loud snoring sounds like it’s right by you. Other reviews boasted how the rangers drive by and tell everyone to quiet down, and we really could have used that for our evening.

The positives. Lots to love about the group campsite. A lot of parking and space. Full view of the sky.
The negatives. Seemed like there were many first time campers. Music and loud noises until midnight. Then a group of Indians came around 3am shouting and walking around the group sites. I believe they stayed the night in their cars in the parking lot. This didn't happen the first time we stayed at the site. So maybe it's a roll of the dice.
