What Guests Are Saying
Kyen Campground offers a beautiful setting near Lake Mendocino, with clean facilities, hot showers, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciated the spacious, private campsites and the lake's accessibility for swimming and fishing. However, some noted issues with noise from other campers, unlevel sites, and litter around the lake, but overall, most guests expressed a desire to return.

It was a nice area but the sites were very close. There were a lot of locals that partied past the quiet time and unfortunately, there was no park ranger or any attendant at the booth the entire time. When we arrived, there was an unhoused individual that had set up camp inour spot. When I addressed the situation, they simply moved to the next site. They did not reserves the spot so as the campground fioled up, they hoped to other open spots until there was nothing left.

My husband and I love AC/ A. C. E campgrounds for value, decent amenities, and in general, locations. Kyen CG was great, a bit rustic but the basic bathrooms and showers were clean and had hot water. Lake Mendocino was warm enough for a half—mile swim. For me, the lake set the bar for the 5- star rating but the campground itself was also nice, though most sites are on a slight slope. Loved having a good grill to cook on and for having a fire. I do think that the campsites could use more frequent cleaning between visitors. We picked up a small bag full of plastic bottle tops cigarette butts, old crushed cans and the like. We have been full-timers for 12 years with a travel history that includes. a 14 month stay in Europe with our van, 19 Mexican states to Guatemala, 4 US crossings, a trans-Canada tour and an extensive Alaskan tour via the Yukon as well as RV-ing in New Zealand and Australia. Point being that we’ve stayed at thousands of campgrounds and we liked Kyen CG, esp. for value in California. We will definitely return
We will definitely return to Kyen CG.

Overall it was a great place. My only issue was each night other guests were extremely loud and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone to report a noise complaint. It was extremely loud and lasted til almost 3 am
