Kyen Campground offers a beautiful setting near Lake Mendocino, with clean facilities, hot showers, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciated the spacious, private campsites and the lake's accessibility for swimming and fishing. Totally fine experience. And good views of the lake from our spot. FYI this spot isn't lakeside, it's one back. But it's a clear view and you don't feel cramped, there's lots of space.

Lack of signage, speed humps need repainting, cannot see them... campsites could use cupboards or animal boxes. Repair parking pads, many ankle twisters

It was our first time camping at this area and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The spots were amazing. I love that we could just walk right up to the water and sit on the shoreline. Will definitely be returning.

Kyen campground [the sign says 'Ky-En'] was a pleasant place to stay for 2 nights. On the north shore of Lake Mendocino, it was relaxing and nicely spread out. Coming in at the end of the season, the campground was also 80% empty, so most campers were spread out. There were ducks and geese at the lakeshore, and many sites had electrical and/or water.
If there was a drawback, it is that poison oak is common here, so we constantly had to watch where we were walking. We also camp with 3 cats, and had to keep their leads short enough they wouldn't wander into a patch and bring it back on their fur. The camp host was also pleasant and helpful.
