What Guests Are Saying
Kyen Campground offers a beautiful setting near Lake Mendocino, with clean facilities, hot showers, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciated the spacious, private campsites and the lake's accessibility for swimming and fishing. However, some noted issues with noise from other campers, unlevel sites, and litter around the lake, but overall, most guests expressed a desire to return.

Love the area where we were at. Bathroom & shower was near by and the lake is just a walk away. Really enjoyed our time there. Will visit again soon.

Rustic but very pleasant. Looks like it needs a higher level of dry weed control. Poor cell reception in the area so it was hard to make a reservation on the spot.

The setting is lovely, and the campsites are well-shaded and situated.
However, I was really disappointed by the amount of trash everywhere. Dirty diaper on the shoreline, broken pop-up sun shelters abandoned on the beach, cans and bits of Kleenex everywhere. Our campsite had a pile of dry cat food mixed into the dirt as well as a lot of small bits of detritus everywhere. Made me sad that thoughtless and/or lazy people ruin it for the rest of us.

Campground was fine. Could use some maintenance. The site next to ours had the sewer pipe broken off. One night a massive fight broke out because someone stole another person's campsite. The victim of the stolen campsite had his face smashed with a maglite flashlight by the people who stole the site. Many sheriff's vehicles and ambulance came with lights flashing around 11pm. Lake is nice and warm. Bring yellow jacket traps!!
