The Santa Cruz County Fair offers a vibrant, family-friendly experience with fun rides, tasty food, live entertainment, and a welcoming community atmosphere. Highlights include the highly praised Country Fair Cinnamon Rolls and enjoyable events like the Friday night races. However, some visitors noted high prices, disappointing food options, and challenges with parking and accessibility, leading to mixed feelings about the overall value.

We went on 9/15/2024 and there is huge amounts of traffic. The parking lot is very dusty. No in and out privileges so we didn't bring enough water and had to pay $4 for a bottle of water. We ate a gross burrito that cost $14. Everything is a rip off especially in regards to food. Other than that my son had a good time. Personally we wouldn't go for adults. Good for children, he is 8yo. Most of the shows were subpar. We really liked the circus show that was the best. The pig racing show 90% was just having audience children petal a wagon with weights/ my son got bored. The horse show was the worst. They played the most obnoxious music in Spanish (which was too loud even with ear plugs) and only spoke Spanish. We have no idea what they were saying we are not Hispanic. All in all it's definitely expensive and we spent almost $200 for a 2 adults and 1 kid. Parking is $15, children rides $40, bad lunch around $20 per person. My son ate the rest of my burrito that I did not finish and some chips we had brought as a snack. I would reconsider going there again. My favorite exhibit was the bonsai one.

Total disappointment. Treated like a criminal at entrance because I had a small pocket knife that I always carry. I've been to neighborhood carnivals that had better food and better options. I purchased tickets online and spent $10+ more as opposed to buying at the gate. Prices were ridiculous. $65 for 2 tickets and parking. Total waste of time and money. Better to go to boardwalk instead. The coolest part of the day was when a scorpion walked on my hand.

This review is for Country Fair Cinnamon Rolls specifically. They really are the best cinnamon rolls ever! Huge, freshly baked, served warm, ooey and gooey, with the perfect amount of frosting (i.e., A LOT of frosting), surprisingly not too sweet, and the Tres Leches cinnamon roll was genius! Drenched with deliciousness. I'm drooling as I write this. The staff is also super friendly! If they're in town, you must go!!

It’s a perfect family-friendly event and a great way to experience local culture and agriculture. Looking forward to coming back next year! 🎡🎶🐄🍿🎃
