Wonderful amount of space between each camp. Lovely to be right in the thick of all there is to see.

There was no where to easily fill water jugs (hose spigot or similar). Campsite did not have anywhere completely flat to set up a tent. It was hard to find the site in the dark. There was a sort of steep section between the road and my campsite. After the first night I decided it was not worth the gas to drive back and found another campsite more along the way to where I was heading the next day.

The hike in campsites are really close to car parking areas, so no worries about hiking in all your gear to these campsites.

This campsite was not at all suitable for a larger campervan. It was just a narrow curve going up and down a steep hill with no space to adjust the angle of the vehicle.

We got there when they were transitioning from reserving online to first come first serve, lucky for us because everywhere else was booked. The hike in camp gave a seclusion and the trails were picturesque. Overall, best camping experience ever.

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Hodgdon Meadow Campground is located 1/2 mile from the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station (Hwy 120 from the west), and is 25 miles (45 minutes) northwest of Yosemite Valley.
Hodgdon Meadow Campground is accessible via Highway 120, which is located 1/2 mile from the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station into Yosemite National Park. It can also be reached by Highway 41 and Highway 140, which connect to the park from the south.
