Lower Pines Campground boasts a fantastic location with spacious sites, incredible views of granite cliffs, and proximity to amenities in Curry Village. The campground is well-maintained and offers a relaxing atmosphere for visitors, with enjoyable access to the river and hiking trails. This was our first time camping at Yosemite in one of the coveted campgrounds that everyone says is a must and they were right! We absolutely loved our spot. It was spacious - yes, you’re somewhat close to your neighbors, but we didnt feel like anyone was on top of us or invading our space.
The best part was the amazing views along with being right next to the river! Site 39 was our spot, but I’d say 38 is a great spot too. Their views might have been a bit better and unobstructed but seriously either spot is the best in Lower Pines.
Close walking distance to the bathrooms but not so close you’re hearing the foot traffic to use it. I would definitely say bring soap or sanitizer because there was none. Also, be prepared for the loud booms early morning to ward off the bears. We were told multiple times the campground in general has high bear activity and although we didn’t see any roaming our site, a ranger came by around 11 pm alerting us that one was in the area so be bear aware and utilize the bear storage containers.
Great site, book it and enjoy yourself at one of my favorite parks!

Nice spacious campground and stay quiet from 10pm on. The ADH campground has a 12x12 raised bed, which does not work for our 10x14 tent. Fortunately, the space next to the raised bed happens to be 10 from the border so we were able to set our tent there.

The location is excellent because you can walk to many hikes straight from the campsite and to Curry Village, which has various amenities. That being said, you should be aware that the sites are very on top of one another. They claim that quiet hours begin at 10pm and fires need to be put out by then. However, the large group in the site next to us was up past midnight being quite loud and there was no camp host anywhere to address the situation. So just beware of what you are getting by staying in this campground.

Also, on busy holiday weekends, the shuttle system will be a joke. Expect 45 minute or longer waits for a shuttle with space. It really pushes you in the direction of just driving your car and looking for parking, which really is the opposite of the intended purpose.

That being said, Yosemite Valley is every bit as gorgeous as advertised. The view from Glacier Point and Washburn Point are incredible.

Spot was nice and level. Parking is OK if you have two cars; not wide enough for a truck camper or wide campervan and another vehicle. It is right next to camp host and directly across from the entrance booth and next over from the dumpsters for what that is worth.

Sites run together, but well worth it for the location. View of half-dome from the site (including the sunset colors). Next door to the river for swimming, etc and a walk or short shuttle ride to lots of amenities and the Mist trailhead. Amazing.
