Lots of trees with decent shade. Close to the river and mist trail. It’s a beautiful spot!

Fair ... Extremely crowded, camp site located next to roadway where overnight parkers/campers woke up and walk through our camp site as a short cut; not a great location. Restrooms were not very well stocked and out of soap. a plus, very close to all things in the valley to see.

Good campground, easy pull-in spot with bathrooms nearby. I wasn't sure where the showers were but only stayed one night.

Amazing location near everything you need in Yosemite Valley. You can make your own food or wait with everyone else at Curry Village which is a 5-10 min walk. It was 100 degrees while we were there so a little rough for sleeping, but a short walk to the river and you could cool off quickly. Highly recommend leaving your car here and taking the shuttle or renting bikes to explore the valley!

There’s not much space to set up a tent, but if you’re car camping, you’ll be fine. The campsite is about a 20-minute walk from the Mist Trailhead, so it’s very convenient if you’re planning to go hiking.

Yosemite can’t be beat, but lower pines … like most of the valley… is loud and crowded. I would try to get a site away from the road next time or look into camp 4. I thought it would be nice to be close to the amenities of Curry Village but it’s so crowded. We rarely could use the amenities. The stores were often cleaned out and the food typically had a 30 to 45 minute wait. We expected crowds and noise to some extent, but not really people partying and yelling in a campground until 1 AM.

Some trees at this site were cut down recently. Mid-day in July and August there is not a drop of shade for 3-4 hours with temps in the 90s. Thankfully the river is right there! We have a camper van - required 4 blocks under a front wheel to get level. Overall, it’s a huge site with enough space for 4+ tents and 3 cars and convenient access over to Curry Village.
