What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Camp host was rude, bias, and unprofessional. The lady camp host was very condescending when she asked why we were in line at the kiosk. The male camp host was rude and yelling at guests and drivers. Both were very unprofessional. Also, male camp host was constantly coming over to our campsites each day for to harass us. We felt very uncomfortable with his constant presence and felt he was bias towards our group. Horrible experience with both camp host!
However, the park rangers were very nice, helpful, and professional. We had no problem with the park rangers.

Weather was cooperative until it wasn't. made for some fun muddy adventures, be sure to keep your item in bear boxes only while at the campground if you can,, we has stuff "removed" from our with out permission, The campground is huge but seemed as though only some loops were open?? plenty of wildlife, stopped counting deer after a bit...

What a great campground! Had campsite A50 with a direct view of the Tuolumne River and Lembert Dome! No mosquito issues at all. Campground was only half occupied (COVID?) easy to get provisions including basic groceries, ice, beer and wine at the nearby market. Grill was handy from 11 to 5 for a burger or chicken strips but underwhelming. Access to many days worth of day hikes. Tenaya Lake is just 5 minutes away for a refreshing swim. Temps are 10 degrees cooler than Yosemite Valley. Cell coverage was spotty and limited data only happened early in the morning or after 8 at night.

We're sad the campground will be closed the next two years and look forward to an even better experience

I love the Tuolumne Meadows area! Yosemite Valley gets all the attention but I’m my opinion most of the best trails start in or near Tuolumne.

The staff did a great job on after-hours check-ins.

The campground could use better roads and more bathrooms, but location in Tuolumne Meadows is unbeatable!

The roads/paths to drive to the sites were very rough and at times benefited from high clearance, which I did not have. Generally the road quality was worse than other campgrounds.
The sites were also very packed together. Given the reduced capacity at this time, I don't know why nearby sites were all filled

Camp was fairly empty due to 50% capacity. Quiet and not much traffic on the trails. We had the equestrian camp almost to ourselves. The store was not open the first 5 days and the grill never opened while we were there. We were able to restock a few items finally.
Trails were in good shape and we enjoyed riding and hiking to Gaylor Lake, Cathedral Lake, Glen Aulin, Elizabeth Lake and Lyell Canyon. We took a drive to Olmstead Point one day which was beautiful. There was quite a bit of traffic due to construction. All in all it was a fantastic trip.

Tuolumne Meadows is our favorite Yosemite campground in the summer. The access to High Sierra hiking trails is superb. After a long day of hiking, there's nothing better than a dip in the Tuolumne River just outside the campground. The ranger programs, including evening campfire programs and guided hikes, are wonderful.
