About Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8.6 ft. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

I love the way they've made the riverside road a trail, and when they take down the ropes now protecting certain areas, it will be really nice.
On the other hand, the site we got (A41) was right next to both the bathroom (flsuhing)and the trash cans (banging) and the water spigot.
We were kept up much of the night by the noises

The remodeled campsite was great. It will be even better once I label the loops. It was very challenging to find my campsite because none of the roads had labels. Even though we kept all our food in the bear locker, we discovered a mouse in our car as we were finishing packing up to leave.

Enjoyed camping at this site. The campfire ring was a bit far from the picnic table. The site is close to water source, not too far from the bathrooms (2), has 2 tent spots. Close to the next campsite (46).

Everyone was helpful and friendly. Campfires and other programs were excellent-fun and informative. Site A39 turned out to be a great site FOR ME. It’s a bit quirky-with the table, fire ring and tent pad on different levels, but plenty of space for a medium tent and two cars. Best part of the site is the location-low traffic, not too close to bathrooms or garbage cans, close to the river, far from Tioga Rd, an easy walk to the entrance and store, and not right on top of other campsites. I’ll try to book this exact site again.

We booked the last day they were open. If you’re looking for a dark sky area, this is it. You could see all the stars, it’s so pitch black that I couldn’t even see my hand in front of me. It was so beautiful, so worth it. There’s absolutely no signal at all and the visitor center doesn’t have WiFi either, but there’s a small shop for things you might need and a restaurant not even 2 minutes away from the campsites. They had a campfire and called all the campers over to listen about bears, so entertaining. We loved absolutely every second of it. It did get freezing cold by the middle of the night, so, as long as you’re prepared, it’s completely worth booking a night or a few here.

We were very pleased to be able to score a campsite. However the process was cumbersome and confusing. The staggered dates and closing a number of sites without explanation at the end of the season was disappointing.

Bears and all it still is a special place.

the facilities that have been updated are all in good shape, and the space between campsites seems expanded, I didn't feel like other neighbors were right on top of me. plenty of flat ground for tent/s, and the new tables were a comfortable height- I m 6' 2" to work at while cooking and prepping meals
