What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

The multi-year renovation could have improved/modernized the bathrooms. That’s it, that’s my only complaint. This is a perfect campground in a perfect location for families or serious hikers. Verizon cell service in the A loop might be possible due to reception from the Tuolumne Lodge… but it won’t be fast. Enjoy your trip!

Campground was amazing. Initially, when I saw how many sites there were, I was worried it would feel cramped and be loud. Not the case! We were there during the week and had a lovely time. You can easily walk to the river from camp (and some campsites are right by it), the rangers are awesome, and our site had everything we needed. The bathrooms were very well-kept and clean. We had a wonderful few days exploring the campground, hiking the Cathedral Lakes Trail + Clouds Rest, and exploring Tuolumne Meadows...what an amazing place.

Tuolumne Meadows campground was beautiful. The restrooms were always clean near our campsite, the campground was clean, well maintained and campers were quiet. We really enjoyed having the river close by. The only disappointment was that we were unable to buy firewood from a camp host or rangers at the kiosk at the campground, and the nearby store was sold out. We can’t wait to visit Tuolumne again

B27 worked great. Pros: It's flat and close to the Store and Grill. Also, it backs up to the forest. Cons: It's a bit of a walk to a restroom and close to the main campground artery road (so a bit of traffic going by). It's listed as a one-vehicle site, though we were able to wedge our Tundra with popup camper and 4Runner in the site side-by-side, barely. The tent we had was 10'X10' and that's about the largest the site would accommodate with the trees, campfire pit, etc.

Site A32 is great. The bathroom was impressive in looks and cleanliness. Evening ranger talks are available. Kiosk staff was pleasant. Traffic was minimal. A greater emphasis to prevent people from taking dogs off the designated areas might be helpful.

The campground is in a beautiful location with the convenience of several outdoor activities within a short walk or drive. I would not select the same campsite for a future visit. Campsite positives: clean, along the main road and easy to drive in/out, an easy walk to restrooms and trash bins. Campsite negatives: small and on a downward slope, only one tent area was "flat", and lack of privacy. This particular campsite (B036) is closely surrounded by 3 other campsites with a 4th group campsite above it. During my 2-night stay, the neighbors to my left talked until 1am and the neighbor to my right left his camper van (parking?) lights on all night which meant bright lights shining directly into my sleeping area. The 3rd surrounding campsite was a paved group site with RV parking. Lack of privacy (including noise/bright lights shining on me all night) is why I would not choose this campsite again.

The campground is newly refurbished and well managed. I felt very safe camping there as a solo woman. Hiking trails are accessible right from the campground.
