What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

My original tent site was a walk in I believe in the new H section. This was wonderful! I was grateful that there was an opportunity to stay another night but at a different site, this one I believe was in the E section. This was very uncomfortable for a tent - very little room, very crowded section and lots of noise given the tight spacing and crowded conditions so naturally less happy with this second campsite.
However, I cannot stress enough how WONDERFUL the kiosk staff were. The group of park rangers/campsite workers at the entrance station were so helpful, friendly...... great attitudes and I want to thank you and praise you for allowing these workers the ability to access the recreation.gov reservation info and give on site campers the ability to change campsites and/or add camping nights to their stay. As a result of this wonderful service I stayed an additional 2 nights at the walk-in site and a third additional night at another site,. I can't tell you how important this was for me as there was no phone service at all the entire time I was there and I knew friends were showing up on that last day. Had I not been able to extend my stay I would have missed them. I had not seen them in over a year as they live a great distance away.
The bathrooms were great! Your new sections are wonderful! Thanks to a great staff!!!!!!

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The fireside chat about bears was extraordinary! The whole family--from a toddler to grandparents--enjoyed it and learned new things.

We were delighted with improvements to this campground. We understand that it took about three years to complete, but the outcome was definitely well worth it. We have a Pleasure Way Class B and our space was very large and had a picnic table and firepit, both of which we used. We enjoyed our stay immensely...so a big thank you to those with the foresight to maintain and improve our beautiful national parks!!

I am glad that Tuolumne Meadows Campground re-opened this year. It's a great first night stop for a backpacking trip around northern Yosemite. Smoke from camp fires tends to settle on the lower sites, thus I would recommend a site further from the road, which tends to be slightly higher in elevation.
