What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Beautiful! But now crowded like the Valley. 300 campsites! Used to be so pristine. Now overrun with tourists.

We spent two nights at D11. Great site with woods on three sides so very private. Flat space is enough for two tents at most.
Access to visitor center is great. Did not have any issues with Tioga Road noise. Great site.

The river is so special, the sites great, the people are dedicated and lovely. You need powerstrips like they have at the store for charging, you need showers even if cold.

Tuolumne Meadows, as always, was amazing. The upgrades to the campground are mostly very good. The frustrating part is how many campsites were empty in the middle of the week due to no shows.

I loved this location for my Yosemite stay. The food was great and I enjoyed the communal seating. The staff was friendly and very helpful with recommending local hikes and extending my stay. The Tolumne River flows next to camp and is a scenic spot.

Saw 3 bears in the campground while we were there! Fortunately the rangers are very strict about campers leaving food out, and the bear boxes are spacious and great for storing food and smelly items. The bears do their own thing and don't bother you. Saw a ranger chase one off on the first night.
One loud group nearby making noise after 10 but they shut up after I hollered at them.
Great access to all of the sights and trails in Upper Yosemite. Get a spot closer to the river so you can easily walk to a soak on a hot day.

Site A13 was close to the front entrance to the campground. Our site actually had two parking spots. Beautiful area. But traffic in and out of the campground was at all hours. We thought maybe it was friends of staff or friends visiting backpackers? Not sure. Very separate from tioga road traffic. Not a quiet high country experience by any means.
