What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

The campground is in great shape and the site (A22) we stayed at was spacious. Backed up against the meadows led to a great time for our family.

Nice campground, really big. Prepare to drive a big loop to exit! Not a lot of privacy, but better than some. I was expecting a lot of policing by the hosts (e.g., clotheslines, coolers out, extra tents), but I didn’t see any evidence of that. The site did not have a tent pad, so you could have multiple tents. We had three small tents in a “small tent” site with no problem. The grocery store was open and stocked for the backpackers in particular, seemed reasonable price wise. Also had coffee. The takeout cafe next door was also open.

The campgroung is nicely located, clean and very comfortable to stay. They also have campfires every day during season, which is a great event to attend.

We spent 4 wonderful nights here, had a LOVELY campsite and enjoyed every bit of it (even tho the nights were pretty cold!).

Many campsites had roped off areas all around them. River access was limited by roped off areas. Bathrooms were old and modesty appointed. Limited services - campground store lightly stocked, no gas station for many miles.
Mountains and domes in the area are beautiful.

Been waiting anxiously for 3 years so felt like I had won a lottery to get a campsite. The campground is a mix of familiar with upgrades and also very new and nice. The good roads were superb. Unfortunately my wife was sick so we couldn’t really explore and we had to go home early

We were just there for 9 nights. Overall, we had a very good experience, however some campsites, including ours, are far from the bathrooms and water spigots. Our spot was also next to the trash dumpsters which made a sound like the Titanic sinking every time someone used them. Maybe move them across the road? Or at the very least oil the hinges. Bathrooms were very clean but I would recommend putting some coat hooks in the stalls and soap dispensers by the sinks. Finally we went to every campfire ranger talk while we were there and the rangers are greatand we learn something new every talk. Finally, thanks to all the volunteers.

Bathrooms are clean. You’re walking distance from the Grill and store so if you need something it’s not a stress or a drive.

Site was sloped even though it looked flat in the photo.
