What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Spent 4 nights camping solo as I had missed Tuolumne the past 3-4 years. The improvements to the campground were outstanding as new bear boxes, picnic tables & fire pits were replaced. It appears the sites have been leveled as needed and new parking platforms and roadways repaired and or replaced. Overall I had a great time. Plus my site was a short walk to the store & Tuolumne Meadows for night star gazing.

Campsites are clean and well organized. Restroom are well located through-out campground. Go quiet shortly after sundown.

Wonderful to see the new improvements and great to return after your 3-year renovation.

Our campsite 34B was very good for location etc. the first 2 nights. But the last 2 nights late campers came in to nearby 35B and the noise was very disruptive. We were told that 35B was an administrative site which late campers are assigned. It would be nice to know that ahead if possible. One late camper was at midnight and setting up their RV was loud. The other night it was a tent camper with a loud child talking excessively at 2 AM. So rude! We had to go over to ask them to be quiet.
Being close to the meadow and store is a plus. The staff at the campground was friendly and helpful.

Small flat area for tent. Campfire ring is weirdly located a bit away from the picnic table and bear locker, behind some trees and closer to the road. Not really conducive for sitting around or cooking on. Campground could use more restrooms, it was bit of a walk away and the restroom does not have lights.

The reservations system made the stay less than it could be. Many times i saw empty sites being held for no shows. If the site reservation was also connected to a a compulsory verification that the site was to be occupied then those sites could have been filled. There were many single night reservations according to the camp data and many were no filled. This is a waste of campground facilities. The reservation system that existed before with 50% walkin worked well even during busy times. I think its time to examine the data. It should be possible to reserve a 14 day stay and be in one site the whole time. I had to move 3 times to be there all with real reservations.

Our campsite was quiet. The campground is mostly very shady, which of course may be good or not so good. Restrooms are kept supplied and clean.

This site is immediately adjacent to one other site with compromised privacy, but has decent space and a few trees. Noise from the nearby bathroom may annoy some. The lovely river is a few steps away down a walking path. Sites on the new loop H seemed to be the quietest and best in this enormous campground.
