What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Nice, shady campsite. Was quiet, even though adjacent to group campsite. Only because small group present. Close to water spigot and restrooms. Mosquitos in July.

Relatively shady site. Nice, flat, built-up place for tent. Tight fit for 2 tents. Close to water spigot and restrooms. Was quiet when we were there. Some mosquitos in July. Room for 2 cars as listed.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground is so wonderful! Close enough to visit the valley and far enough to be away from the crowds. Wonderful hikes, cooler weather.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground is a beautiful and large campground. Deer freely walk around, and there are amazing birds. Most sites are big enough for a couple of small tents. Some sites are large enough for a sprinter van, although the grade is slight to moderate, not flat. The less busy and quiet environment was much more peaceful than camping in Yosemite Valley. The river and meadow were easy walks from our campsite, and the trailheads were also close by. We drove to Tenaya Lake one morning and enjoyed the refreshing water. The only frustration was that we had to switch to a different site each night of our stay because the sites booked quickly on Recreation.gov. And, when we looked the next morning at the site we moved out of the day before, it was empty! People should have the courtesy to cancel if they don’t need the site, or NPS should require that people confirm the day of their reservation to secure their campsite. Unfortunately, this issue is widespread in many popular campgrounds resulting in empty sites and frustrated campers.

The most beautiful campground I have ever been to. The accessibility to great hiking and the rest of Yosemite makes it easy to explore.

Excellent programs. Especially loved learning about the history of the Sierra Club and their role in creating and protecting the park.
