What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Very nice campground with lots of trails close by. Good opportunity to see wildlife in the meadows. Even if the campground was busy, the Tuolumne area is much quieter than Yosemite Valley.

we loved the campground. There’s also area is much larger than pictures show. You can setup the tent on a little area in the back close to the trees since the bear locker and picnic table is more towards the front close to the road. Car is parked right in front of it. The area is close to the bathrooms. We found it to be quiet and perfect. It is also close to the exit of the campground so it makes it easy to leave and come in. Toulomne Meadows is also gorgeous! Highly recommended.

It is a great place to stay, what is needed is a way to shower and somewhere to fill up propane tanks nearby. The abundant trails were incredible and one could walk right from the campground. What is most important is to keep the costs down so people of all incomes can stay there.

The staff was super helpful, we had to move our site to accommodate our vehicle . Made the trip so much nicer . Camp was clean and quiet plan to go back soon . There were plenty of hiking trails close by and it wasn’t crowded like the valley .

We were fortunate enough to snag a "day of" campsitesite, due to the many cancellations due to wildfire smoke. The smoke miraculously cleared out when we arrived and we were assigned a site.-G-5. So happy!!
Here is the part that's not so good: G-5 has a parking pull-in is tilted left to right AND front to back, for those who have a camper/truck, sorry. Also the bear box is right smack behind the parking pull-in , so it blocks off getting to the rest of the campsite. (There is plenty of room for that box to go to the side of the site, up the incline a bit.)
Also, the tent site is quite slanted downhill and left to right. And, a small pad.
This site is also about a 2 block hike to the bathroom. So, just know how it is, right?

Our campsite A09 was spacious, and the parking space was actually about 40 ft. However, there's not much of a gap between the trees, and the campsite is surrounded by others in the same loop. I would be glad to choose this campsite again.
The big problem was smoke. The AQI was very high due to the Garnett fire and we left early.
I will recommend all the ranger talks and walks, including the campfire. Fascinating stuff they presented.

This campground is in a spectacular area. It’s hard to beat the views from just outside the campground. While the campground is huge, the layout of the sites in a forest of good-sized trees allows some feeling of privacy. The facilities are clean and nice, although they are usually busy. The check-in process was smooth and we were provided useful information on rules (especially fires and proper food storage). If you are tent camping, like we were, be prepared for chilly nights in early-mid September.
