What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Great location and proximity to Yosemite, amongst so many amazing outdoor areas in the Tuolumne area. River across the street, the store and local grill are a god-send, especially if you happen to forget anything for camping (like a gas line for your grill lol). Bonus running water in the restrooms, though would be nice to have any shower-type facility, even if it's an outdoor set up. Very helpful rangers and pleasant crews.

Great spot! It is in between other camping sites as the description says so there’s not much “privacy” but we did not mind. Our camping neighbors were nice and respected quiet times. Overall we had a lovely time!!!

This was one of the best experiences of my life. The Ranger who did the campfire talk on the lodgepole pines did a great job. I loved singing, laughing, and not a phone insight. Thank you.

TUOLOMNE MEADOWS is a huge campground but everyone there was very friendly and the rangers were more helpful than you would think, and weren't at all pushy. I didn't have any cell connection and the store doesn't have much but its a great place to use as a basecamp to walk around the meadows and surrounding mountains. Weather is fairly perfect in early august, not to cold and only hot during noon time. One day there was a mid afternoon thundershower typical of Tuolumne meadows. Great place to stay

Busy campground but that’s expected for Yosemite. Spot wasn’t bad definitely have neighbors and it’s a long drive to the valley but overall happy to get a spot in the summer

The paving of the roads was an awful idea. Cars speeding around at all hours at high speeds. No speed bumps have been placed anywhere to slow the traffic. The construction of the new campground left sites with tiny camp areas and with some placed next to the road. It’s only a matter of time that someone drives into a site with a tent next to the street. We witnessed an e-bike crash that left bike parts across the road, not to mention the speed problem again.
What used to be a quiet, peaceful campground has become a high paced highway. Glad I spent decades here before the change but so extremely disappointed in the outcome of this funding project. The campground lost all of its charm.

Our campsite was a good size and had at least some privacy. The campground was quiet enough. The kiosk provided good info and a useful hiking map. The campground is of course in a really beautiful and special location. The biggest downside is that the bathrooms are VERY few and VERY far-between. I got a site near a bathroom, on purpose, so the distance was okay, and on weeknights, there was not too much of a crowd. But on weekend nights, it was SO crowded - there was ONE stall in the men's room for dozens of campsites, so I usually had to wait in a line of maybe 4 people - this was a giant pain and took up a lot of time. I hated it so much. It's mind-boggling to me that they'd have such inadequate facilities. I get that it's hard to build and maintain stuff at that location, but it just seems not within the realm of acceptable reality to have one toilet for such a large portion of campsites. One time, a teenage guy in line for the bathroom was visibly struggling really hard and almost didn't manage to make it till the toilet was free.
