What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Renovations made campground more crowded.

The place was amazing. Our campsite was a little bit rough - a lot of rocks and tree trunks - but it’s understandable as the campsite just reopened. There were lots of nice trails and beautiful lakes to go to. Our 6 nights stay was definitely not enough to see everything. The campsite is around 70 miles from the village so additional trips need to be planned properly.

Great campsites, you’re in bear country so be wise!
No soap in restrooms, no showers. Very clean facilities. Not too much privacy, but enough that it remains quiet.

Absolutely perfect. With the renovation everything was top notch. Benches are new and modern length, bear boxes brand new and tall, bathrooms were so clean any time of day and the best I’ve experienced in 40 years of camping. Can’t wait to go back.

The site is very close to the bathroom but still very quiet. Its' a big spot but the parking is not level, but it was fine for me. Though the site is very large, the bear box is far from the picnic table, so it's hard to keep an eye on the food while eating or cooking.

Tuolomne Meadows Campground is very quiet. It's embedded in the forest. I believe it has been renovated and renewed recently, so all the roads are smooth, and the bathrooms are very clean. I hope it stays that way. I will definitely stay here again.

The newly renovated campground is a winner - spacious for parking, tent setting, fire pit, picnic table are all good. Bathroom is clean. For us, the site is humongous which is probably not our preference; also the ground is very dusty (light yellowish dirt). But overall, very good experience!

We made very last minute reservations bc we had to cut short our backpacking trip but didn't want to leave Yosemite yet. Unfortunately, there were no sites available both nights we were staying. Our first night, our campsite was amazing (F7) - quiet, secluded, flat spot for our tents. Sadly, we got a really awful site (E10) for our second night - it was rocky and uneven, too small for two tents, not a single flat spot, the table was crooked, etc. we went to the campground volunteering on duty and despite it being late, after looking for a while, he was able to find a better site for us - he even drove up to our site to let us know he found something! I wish I knew his name, because he made our night so much better! Thank you, kind sir!

After camping in Tuolomne Meadows camp ground many times over the years, this was the best. The work that was completed after two years of construction has really helped with the overall experience. New roads, upgraded campsites, upgraded bathrooms, etc. were greatly appreciated!!!
