About Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8.6 ft. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Camping at Tuolumne Meadows was lovely. Temperatures were perfect day and night. Good location for exploring Yosemite all around. The market was a great addition and the employees were very friendly. The grill next door was rarely open and we never once got to eat there. There was a lot of frustration with many other people we came in contact with. The camp ground was clean and comfortable. There is a lot to see and do even if you just stuck right to this area. Twin bridges is a 4 mi round trip hike from the campground and was one of our favorite chill hikes to do while being able to enjoying relaxing in the water as well.

Amazing views of some of the best sites in Yosemite on the drive up . The campground itself was very clean and well maintained . Good access to water , restrooms with flush toilets and Bear lockers . Also , very nice fire pits with usable heavy grates .

Showers are an hour and a half away. It was a good location but primitive facilities. However it is Yosemite so the scenery is great.

Nice, very large site. It is next to a bathroom, so that is very convenient, even though it means things might be slightly louder than elsewhere. I would happily stay there again, but if you like maximum privacy you should try to get another spot. The spot has a very nice fire pit, and plenty of room for a tent or two. The ground wasnt completely level, but more than level enough.

We had a great time at campsite C080. This site can accommodate two cars and has two flat spaces for tents. Small stones are quite pointy. It may be wise to use bloom to clear more than you think is enough. Our friends couldn't come, so just our small tent made the site so spacious. The bear box is under the sun from mid-morning to early afternoon, and to keep the temperature cool, we cover it with an aluminum sheet to reflect the sun - it worked well. Water is available, but the closest is within the handicap site, and when someone comes to stay, we feel it is invasive to use it, so we went to the one at the restroom. The restroom had four toilets and two sinks, and those were clean all the time.
We hiked to the trail with the twin bridge and went quite far after, and swam in the river, which has many secluded areas, and you have it all to yourself. The next day, we hiked the big loop starting at the Parsons cabin and around Teneya Lake as well. Other than going to Teneya Lake, we did not drive and enjoyed the nearby hikes and river around the campground. The General Store carries an impressive amount of products and has very reasonable prices. The burger place next to it had a tasty soft serve. Be sure to enjoy the sunset from the meadow opposite the Visitor Center.
Next summer we will go back for backpacking!

We stayed in site B43 for 2 weeks. While the campground is very good, I do not recommend site B43 for several reasons. The first is the road routing design. Every car driving in loops C, D, E, F, G, H and half of B all drive by site B43. All those loops route past site #B43. Additionally, the group campsites are across the street. When you get a site with 20 or 30 people it will always be loud, even if they are pretty respectful. But some groups cranked music up to "dance club" levels with large speakers. We had a hard time just talking to each other at our own picnic table. I'm surprised the park tolerates music like that. Finally, the bathrooms and water spigots are about as far away from B43 as any site. They were a long walk, and sometimes in the morning the men's room had a line a guys waiting because the bathroom has just one toilet.
