About Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8.6 ft. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

The campsite we chose B034 was awesome; level, spacious and not to close to our neighbours. Tuolumne Camping Ground and meadows is definitely a very special place in the world.

Your campground is very nice but some campsites are not. Some are too hilly or uneven for more than one small tent. Also there are not enough restrooms. I had to stand in line every morning to use a toilet. The one ply toilet paper is a joke too. You need more toilets and a shower would be nice too. It doesn't even have to be hot. Lukewarm would be fine. Also no lighting or electricity in the restrooms is a bad idea.

Had a wonderful time celebrating my 70th birthday with good friends. There are so many day hikes to do. Elizabeth Lake was beautiful. It was quiet at night which helped with sleeping.

The staff was incredibly helpful. Special thanks to Dan for helping me find a safe place to stash an extra pack while I was on trail.

Also big thanks to the young woman at the SAR site who helped me find a ride to the YARTS bus stop with mt excessively loaded two packs.

I’m forever grateful for the incredible memories!

Overall the campground is great - it’s Yosemite. But it is LOUD. The Tioga road has noise all night. Cars driving through your campsite at 5:45 a.m. Even with earplugs it’s tough. The campsite itself is nice.
