About Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8.6 ft. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

The campgound and the camp site was really good. Even though it felt like there were a lot of sites in the camp ground, we got enough privacy to have a peaceful time. The camp site had all the provisions we needed. The toilets were close by which was good. The only downside was that it was very small, making it pretty crowded in the morning. That's the only reason I am giving this a 4 star experience.

Large campground but decent room at each site and nice facilities, so didn’t feel overcrowded. Not noisy. Campground hosts were excellent.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful campground, but unfortunately we had a disappointing experience with the campground host.

Our family had an amazing camping trip at Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite. 🏕️🏔️ The area is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by incredible mountains, trees, and meadows. The cool weather and night sky were amazing. Just be prepared for cold nights because of the high elevation.

Unfortunately, our experience with the campground host was very different. We are Mexican, and based on the way we were treated compared to other campers, we felt that we were being discriminated against. The host even called a park ranger and, in our view, made several claims about us that were not true. It made our family feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

We have been camping for over 20 years and understand the importance of following campground rules, respecting other campers, and taking care of the outdoors. We know how to camp responsibly, and we were disappointed to be treated this way.

However, we refused to let one person ruin our family trip. We continued enjoying Yosemite, cooking together, exploring, relaxing, and making great memories.

Tuolumne Meadows itself is absolutely beautiful, and we would definitely return. Our concern is specifically with the campground host and how we were treated. I hope management takes situations like this seriously so every family, regardless of their background, is treated equally and made to feel welcome.

One bad experience will not stop us from enjoying Yosemite and doing something our family has loved for more than 20 years. 🏕️❤️

Nice campsite, had enough space and close to the services. End of the loop, so less traffic. A bit sloppy on the way in from the parking.

The campground is huge! Keep the map if you going to walk around, easy to be lost.
The site C014 is very small and uneven. I have no idea where I'd pinch my tent, near bear box in lower part which going to collect water if rain, or on upper part on the slope. Parking is well leveled, we slept in car.
Because of rain, we added a rainfly to the car... almost impossible to hammer pegs, new heavy layer of gravel is very hard.
Restroom had running water, but no any shelf or hooks for toiletries and towels. Is it really too difficult to add that simple things? Or it's normal to keep everything between legs?
Overall, the campground is in good location and lots of beautiful trails around.

Very crowded but it doesn't feel like it. Great team of rangers always willing to help and assist. Grill was superb. Nice river next to Campground invites to cool down a bit.
