What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

This is a one of a kind location, and we were fortunate to be assigned a site near the river which was lovely. Our site was fine but we observed that many of the sites are quite on a slant which would make it difficult to level a tent or rv. We also noticed that quite a few campsites remained empty which is a shame - may have been due to Covid 19 restrictions, the inability to offer first come first served spots due to late cancellations, or campers simply not cancelling. Wish we could have stayed more than one night!

Prepare to be wowed! Our campsite was on loop A right along the river. The views were breath taking. The water sounds made me sleep like a baby. The tent only sites are a little on top of each other, but everyone was so respectful and quiet. This campground was quite possibly the best part of our trip!

Tuolomne Meadows Campground is the perfect basecamp for exploring Yosemite’s high Sierra. The campground is beautiful, well maintained and is in short walking distance to a general store where you can grab firewood, snacks, beer, insect repellent, some backpacking food and more.
If you’re in to fishing, the Tuolomne River runs through the campground and the wild trout are fun to catch (use elk hair caddis flies and float it down the river with a bobber using a 3’ lead).
The campground is also close to most of Tuolumne Meadows most notable trailheads including Glen Aulin and Cathedral Lakes.
Overall, it’s an amazingly social place and you should consider yourself very luck if your able to secure a spot here.

Excellent! Solo camped for 3 days/nights with my dogs. Clean campground & campsite. Kudos to the volunteers, rangers, & maintenance personnel! Dogs aren't allowed on trails in National Parks, rather than driving into Yosemite Valley, I opted to take the dogs to hike the Saddlebag Lake Loop in Inyo National Forest---SWEET! If you hike the "loop", start at the east trailhead and (due to the amount of shale on the trail, this route is recommended by the locals & "loop" experienced hikers) return the same route (or utilize the boat shuttle for an across-the-lake shuttle back to the parking area). Be sure to hike beyond Saddlebag Lake to the other lakes contained in "Twenty Lakes Basin"---Greenstone Lake is the perfect spot for a picnic!

Tuolumne is just the most special place. Hiking, climbing, reading a book at Tenaya Lake, cooking for the kids and having smores at the campfire. The best this planet has to offer.

Beautiful campsite tended by friendly and helpful rangers. Stayed for 3 nights in mid July and enjoyed beautiful weather and easy foot access to wonderful hikes and the only food store around. Morning swims in the Tuoloumne river, all day on the trails, and crisp nights under the stars. This is a sweet little spot. Also, about 25 degrees cooler during the day than it was in Yosemite Valley.

What a majestic place. It was a beautiful escape from the CA Central Valley heat. The ground were well kept. The restrooms were clean and stocked. The dog leash rules felt a bit extreme, but we do understand. Overall, it was a perfect camping experience.
