What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Location is great. Away from the valley and the crowds. Campsites are great and the store is also convenient.
Few things will make the stay even better: 1) lights and soap in restrooms. 2) shower 3) many more EV chargers than the current situation with only 4.

Great campsite just past the campground kiosk and across from the restrooms. There can be a bit of activity as people go in and out throughout the night, but the tent pad is further inward, which can mitigate the noise somewhat. There is a walking trail next to the site, but people generally do not walk through the campsite itself. There is a very large pad for tents, and this site is far enough from the neighboring site (A022) that there's some privacy. The store and grill are about a third of a mile walk from the site, and Lembert Dome parking area is similarly quite close from the site, making it easy to leave my car parked while I went adventuring. Be vigilant about the bear box, though; one of the rangers said that there was a bear this season that had been snatching things out of people's open bear boxes right in front of them, haha.

Nice campsites. Bathrooms were very clean. Helpful checkin process. Love the location. Proximity to Tenaya lake and so many great trails. Really enjoyed everything.

Remarkable result after the 3 year recovery and makeover. Is truly the best experience.

The staff, permanent and seasonal, were all outstanding. I was surprised though to see no staff at the campsites or cleaning the bathrooms (but they were clean). Is staffing greatly reduced? During 3 nights in the campground, I saw a ranger patrolling the campground only once.

The campground was very good! Well maintained and clean bathrooms. The only reason I gave 4 stars in stead of 5 is that depending on your campground, the restroom can be a literal hike to get to. There arent many direct paths to them unless you want to walk farther taking the actual road. You would need to trek around campsites or if you’re lucky and no one is staying, through the campsites to get to the restroom. Other than that we will definitely be back and be more mindful of campsite to bathroom locality.
