About Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8,600 feet. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

Fabulous campsite, two nights three days of hiking. Rangers were wonderful. Initial impression not great when the nearby toilets were blocked. But the rangers were on it and had it all shiny within an hour of my arrival. Hiking to Clouds Rest one of the best hikes I’ve ever done

We listed in our tent site reservation that we had one small and one medium tent. Unfortunately, we were so close to the people next to us, there were not two level spots for our tents. :( luckily we were able to move to another site the next morning. Also, there were way more than 6 tents at the sites across from us. People kept arriving all thru the night then checked out before the rangers came around. At least 10 ppl each at those 2 sites!!!!

Gorgeous area, easy walk from Tuolumne river and the Dog Lake/Lembert Dome trailhead. Site was comfortable, though roads to parking spots were somewhat rocky so be careful. Rangers were friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous campsite right on the Tuloumne river! The bathrooms have running water. Each campsite is equipped with a bear bin, picnic table, and fire ring.

As a child my parents brought me up here almost every year. I have been gone for awhile but have been coming back the last few non Covid years. Toulumne Meadows has always been and still is my favorite place I have ever been too. It is over 8000’ elevation so I give myself a day to acclimate before doing any big hikes. The Ranger staff is always friendly and very helpful. This year they aren’t doing the ranger group campfires so it seemed like more interaction with my neighbor campers. I used a new mosquito repellent combo this year and for the first time I did not get 1 bite. Several mosquitoes were flying near me though. If you like to hike and catch pan sized trout this is the place for you.

I really enjoyed my stay at Tuolumne Meadows Campground. It has a different feel than the Valley campground and the campsites are spaced further apart. Bathrooms are nearby along with drinking water inside them. The campsite seems to be a lot quieter than valley campground and it is huge! My only issue which I'm sure Yosemite cannot control was there were these little white worms called pine catkin sawfly larvae occasionally falling from the pine trees during my stay. I stayed during June, so during the morning they would burn up in the sun, but during evening some still dropped. There were pine tree right above my picnic table, so I had to be aware of them, so none would drop in my food or my dog's water bowl. There is a nearby store just a few yards away from the campground that has a decent selection of goods (even though they were sold out of all ice cream by late afternoon) and fast food place and post office for those who needed it. You can walk to the Lembert Dome trail parking from the campground and a drive to Tenaya Lake is not far at all. Tuolumne Meadows is Yosemite without the crowds and waterfalls, but there are a few lakes! Plus, it's close to Mono Lake for those who want to take a drive there. There's camp sites for RV, tents only to even backpackers sites since there are nearby trails. I had a campsite next to the river and decent view of Lembert Dome. Also, there was no Internet service at the campsite during the day, but it's strange that between about 4AM up until 8AM the Internet worked on my AT&T iPhone, but during peak hours forget about it.

The campground was crowded and the toilets weren't cleaned.

We loved TM. Really like the first come first serve camp assignment. Great employees and beautiful landscape.
