What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

MAGICAL. Friendliest ranger we've ever met recommended his favorite spot to us and it did not disappoint. View of the dome, river and an amazing sunrise/sunset view. There are deer in the meadow almost all the time when we were there in late September. The sites are spread out enough for adequate privacy. It was a quick drive to amazing hiking trails. Would love to camp here again!

This is a lovely campground though it's not site specific so you won't know how it will go until you get there. I was fortunate enough to secure a tent only site and when we arrived we got an excellent site that was fairly secluded. Only downfall was the bathroom was quite a walk. Obviously located in an amazing area in the Sierra high country with ample hiking opportunities. It is bear country so be smart and respectable and keep everything secure!

We have camped several times in Tuolumne Meadows in the summer, but this year we got a reservation in September. Unfortunately we were not equipped for the unexpected cold weather, 25 degrees at night, so we left on the second day.
The ranger in the office understood our situation and issued a refund for the remaining days.
We like the campground and the surrounding area for hiking, and plan on coming back in the summer.

Lovely campground, the sites can be a little close to one another, but it still felt relaxing and quiet. I like that the camp store is nearby for items such as firewood or things forgotten such as batteries for headlamps, etc. I’d definitely return, but maybe not as close to a major holiday.

It took some serious investigating to finally find the right phone number to call to get a reservation. We had to high-line our horses, which is OK, but other national parks we have taken our horses to have pipe rail paddocks which are much more convenient and limit the area that the horses walk/poop in. However, overall experience was great.

First time to Yosemite so we were excited to see this part of the country . Try and get a National Park Pass to save time at entry because the rangers will split the lane and get you in quicker if not paying another way. Tuolumne is a big campground with larger RV
vehicles taking the first areas. The tent sites are large and would recommend asking at the entrance for a site closest to the river for water access and that wonderful sound. Although the weather was sunny and warm enough during the day it did freeze during the night so keep some water in your vehicle if you arrive in mid-late September. Saw lots of mule deer and the rock formations and ponds are really special. Enjoy.

Staff professional. Excellent contact throughout or camping trip. I have been visiting for 70+ years now. I am impressed that facilities are maintained, campground clean, and trails maintained. Litter was non-existent
