What Guests Are Saying
Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Saw 3 bears in the campground while we were there! Fortunately the rangers are very strict about campers leaving food out, and the bear boxes are spacious and great for storing food and smelly items. The bears do their own thing and don't bother you. Saw a ranger chase one off on the first night.
One loud group nearby making noise after 10 but they shut up after I hollered at them.
Great access to all of the sights and trails in Upper Yosemite. Get a spot closer to the river so you can easily walk to a soak on a hot day.

Site A13 was close to the front entrance to the campground. Our site actually had two parking spots. Beautiful area. But traffic in and out of the campground was at all hours. We thought maybe it was friends of staff or friends visiting backpackers? Not sure. Very separate from tioga road traffic. Not a quiet high country experience by any means.

A33 is a small postage stamp site with no privacy, but unrivaled access (except site A35) to the Lyell fork of the Tuolumne River, which has excellent swimming late summer. Very close to site A35. Two mostly flat parking spots, only one tent spot. Bathroom relatively close.

One of our new favorite sites at this campground. Backs up to forest with plenty of space between campsites, flat parking, two good tent sites. Not too far from restrooms.

D11 is one of the best sites, backs up to forest on three sides and Unicorn Creek (dry in August). Level parking, single large tent site. Close to bathrooms, but not too close.

Tuolomne meadows is a lovely spot in Yosemite. Just be aware that despite being the largest campground in the park, it doesn't have showers, or anywhere to get cell signal or wifi. To get a proper radar forecast you need to walk over to the wilderness centre about 2 km away where there's Verizon 5G connection.

Stunning camping in beautiful Yosemite. Very spacious, well covered by the trees, you might see deer walking around. You will definitively see chipmunks.
