About Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground recently had a complete overhaul and rehabilitation of the campsites. Please be mindful of young plants and shrubs by keeping all wheels on parking pads and camping equipment within established campsites. Thank you!Tuolumne Meadows Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 8.6 ft. The site is situated along the scenic Tioga Road just five miles from the Tioga Pass Entrance Station. Within Yosemite, visitors can gaze upon waterfalls, sheer granite cliffs, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness areas, and so much more.Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers beautiful scenery, well-maintained facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite. Visitors appreciate the educational campfire talks, proximity to the river, and ranger-led programs. However, some campers noted the campground can be crowded, and bathroom facilities are limited, with a long walk to restrooms for some sites.

Weather was cold, the area was so beautiful - all combined to make a perfect camping experience for me an my family. There are several local hikes to do (Elizabeth Lake, Dog Lake, Soda Springs), plus every day play at the river. Note - COLD water, warm days!

I took advantage of the campground being kept open for an additional week before closing for the season. While some of the amenities (ranger walks/talks, the TM grill, the shuttle) were not extended that extra week, the weather was fantastic (until Friday night) and the hiking was absolutely fantastic (as usual)!

If you like the high Sierra and wandering about on foot, Tuolumne Meadows is simply wonderful!

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I normally don't like campgrounds that have people that close together, but considering that's really the only option in Yosemite, this is as good it gets! I enjoyed several peaceful nights there.

The reservation process is terrible. Ticket brokers use automated machinery to grab all the reservations the first microsecond they become available on-line. The reservation system needs to be changed so ticket brokers can't use automated equipment. A human can not compete with an automated machine.

my reservation was cancelled by the park, so I never got to experience tuolumne meadows

The campground was crowded and the toilets weren't cleaned.

No showers is a big disadvantage
