Appreciated how close we were to a store with food/supplies and the water. Parking at our site was a bit interesting being up a hillside but our site was amazing so it was worth it for sure. Would happily come back and camp here to be away from the valley crowd.

Great place to stay to visit Yosemite. We stayed for 3 nights at loop C and had a great experience. The camping site has a bit of a slope, so it can be a bit tricky to set up your tent, but totally appropriate for rainy conditions. Wished this place had showers.

Wawona is such a pretty campground, especially since a river runs through it. There are hikes to falls and to the Wawona Grove of giant sequoias nearby as well. Some of the sites are on a slope, so our car may be parked a ways away from your tent and picnic table.

Rangers were welcoming and informative. The campsite was lovely. You can hear and almost see the rushing waters of the Merced River. Met common mergansers at the the waters edge.

I was in section A so pretty close to the road. Traffic dies down in the evening but it's pretty noisy during the day.

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Follow signs to Wawona. The campground is located 8 miles north of the South Entrance station on Highway 41, and 27 miles south of Yosemite Valley.

59 mi drive to downtown Yosemite National Park (about 1 hr 43 min)

General
- You are responsible for reading the following information and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 375-9535; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bear Habitat! Food and toiletries must be stored in provided food lockers. Absolutely NO food or scented items stored in vehicles. Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.
- Potable water at the dump station (located one mile south of the campground) is only available during summer months.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
- Help Yosemite be a Zero Landfill park! Leave excess packaging at home. Use refillable water and propane bottles, food containers and travel mugs. Place all of your recyclable waste in designated recycling containers. For more information go to: https://www.nps.gov/yose/getinvolved/zlf.htm
