The Wawona Campground area seemed very nice. What made our stay unusable was the slope of our site 019 A. The description of the site mentioned in vague terms that the slope was slight to moderate. I have a 25ft Class C. Slight to moderate is 1 to 3 degrees of slope. 019A had 5-6 degrees. A trailer with a pivot at its wheels can have its back end touching the ground and the front end up in the air by 2-3ft. A Class B or C with four wheels cannot tilt like a trailer. There was no way I could raise the front of the sprinter van by 2-3ft. The site was not usable. My fridge needs a more level slope or it stops working. Look it up, RV fridges are like that. I lost about half of my food thinking I could try spending a night there.

We were not able to park our small trailer on the tent area ; we had to install it beside the road; not bad but really not optimal.
Our neighbors were crowded (14 people on one site). Camping rules allow 6 people maximum on the same site. Noisy but we called rangers (hot line) and they became quieter and stopped the music.
Unfortunately, they allow electric generators on campground at specific time (morning, noon, evening) !!! very noisy when you camp in a tent !!! When I go in a nature campground, I do not expect to camping beside a motor.
The camping administration seem not to make sure that campsite regulations are followed (electric generator allowed periods, nb max of people per site, etc)

Omg we love it.! Super clean and the river is right near to the camp, the water is perfect, there is bathrooms and potable water

site 71 was very enjoyable! extremely convenient access to the river and a small spot of shade under trees right on the bank made for a perfect afternoon. there was no shade over the table or area for the tent though, which made it a bit less fun setting up the site. close to bathrooms which were very clean and also right next to the trash cans so a bit loud in the morning when it was getting picked up. there were a lot of large families and groups with loud dogs when i was there so generally noisy but part of the experience! overall really enjoyed my first time at wawona!

Everything would have been fine except it was a heat wave. And there was zero shade in my space. About a 100 degrees. Most sites are better.

We had one night before a backpack trip out of Glacier Point.
Campsite was nice.
Bathrooms could use a little TLC/refresh but everything was functional.

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Follow signs to Wawona. The campground is located 8 miles north of the South Entrance station on Highway 41, and 27 miles south of Yosemite Valley.
Elevation: 1784 feet
59 mi drive to downtown Yosemite National Park (about 1 hr 43 min)

- You are responsible for reading the following information and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 375-9535; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bear Habitat! Food and toiletries must be stored in provided food lockers. Absolutely NO food or scented items stored in vehicles. Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.
- Potable water at the dump station (located one mile south of the campground) is only available during summer months.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
