Great site! There was a slight slope for an rv and we were definitely not level. The peaceful stream was gorgeous and very relaxing. Loved our time here! Good Verizon cell coverage.
Would definitely go back!

We love Wawona, it is one of our best spots! We have had site #A17 both times camping here. It is close to the river, fits our rig and is pretty flat so not much leveling. About 45 minutes from everything in the valley and has a dump site and potable water refill station about a mile away.

We stayed at Loop A spot 11. This spot had plenty of space and was right on the river. We stayed there for 7 nights and had such a great experience. It was a long drive to Yosemite Valley, so I recommend planning some adventure close to Wawona.

A beautiful campground along the Merced River! Very peaceful. My only complaint is that NO ONE needs to burn campfires when it's over 80 degrees! It makes other people sick from the smoke combined with the heat!

Primitive sites are great. Snagged one close to the river. Neighbors had way too many campers over the stated limit so that took away some of the enjoyment. But the trees and wildflowers were beautiful. Wawona and the Mariposa grove of sequoias aren’t far away at all. Worth visiting. Slightly less crowded than the valley. About a 30-45 minute drive from the main part of the valley. Well managed. Bathrooms were clean and functional. Friendly staff. Wish there was a better way to enforce the campsite person limit. But overall a relaxing and enjoyable camping experience!

A large relatively spacious campground. Our site was right on the river. It’s well away from the crowds of the Valley. The Big Trees are a short drive. You can access the Glacier Pt Rd pretty quickly. And if you want to spend a day I. The Valley, that’s easy. Very quiet morning and night

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Follow signs to Wawona. The campground is located 8 miles north of the South Entrance station on Highway 41, and 27 miles south of Yosemite Valley.

General
- You are responsible for reading the following information and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 375-9535; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bear Habitat! Food and toiletries must be stored in provided food lockers. Absolutely NO food or scented items stored in vehicles. Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.
- Potable water at the dump station (located one mile south of the campground) is only available during summer months.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
- Help Yosemite be a Zero Landfill park! Leave excess packaging at home. Use refillable water and propane bottles, food containers and travel mugs. Place all of your recyclable waste in designated recycling containers. For more information go to: https://www.nps.gov/yose/getinvolved/zlf.htm
